while Eva Fr=3DF6lich is (AFAIK) an artifact of failed MIME decoding, Eva

to put back some content:

LDAP searches at the moment make the server-to-ask part of the search
criteria, and one that is largely orthogonal to what you know about the
info you seek. Added to the rest of LDAP's problems, the result is not good.

DNS does not have search.

I suggest we move the directory discussion to the directory@apps.ietf.org
list. It's nice and quiet and not LDAP specific.
